What do you believe the meaning of life is?
Is there a meaning of life?
Or are we just a spec of electricity on the cell of something much larger?
A fish in a pond perhaps?

Discuss.

We mean nothing. We are just mammals or whatever with consciousnesses.

Does consciousness really exist? Or free will?

Consciousness is something stupid we created. We made such a word up for the feeling of regret when we do something hurtful or wrong, etc.

Free will... not so much. You are not even free over your mind these days.

But if free will exists, how does that change these days? Isn't free will something that inherently exists, or doesn't?

And how does that apply today as opposed to, for example, in rigid caste societies?

Free will only exists when you are in a 'nothingness' basically.

Have you ever found you changed decisions because of an Ad, a person's words, etc.? Such as, if your shoes are getting old, and you see this add for new shoes, you will have a good chance of getting the more popular sneaker (Sketches) instead of something that actually LOOKS GOOD.

Maybe you decided White and Black Arizona Tea instead of Green Arizona Tea because it was a prettier can? (I did that the other day and it was tasty. =O )

Advertisements, people, things... all of these things control us. There is no free will as long as we have things to sway what we think.

But in theory we make decisions-- we can be influenced, but the theory of free will holds that it is possible to make a decision with or without that influence.

Predestination, however, holds that in fact no such decisions actually exist-- all events, all time is in fact predetermined-- a novel that we are currently reading by living it, but the next chapter is nevertheless already written, and we cannot change a word.
