Nifelan-- Nifelan is the captial city of the land of Nifelar. Nifelar is run by various noble houses that engage in assorted political skullduggery against each other. Since the common trait of the noble houses is the practice of necromancy, the skullduggery is often literal.

Nifelan is clean, prosperous, and orderly. It's built into the side of a canyon, and was founded by necromancers who were excavating fossils to animate from the canyon walls. (Their work was successful, and the giant skeletal figures that open and close the gates to the city are a reminder of the power of the noble houses.)

The city is especially noteworthy for the almost total lack of a lower class-- there simply aren't many jobs for the poor in Nifelan, because the rulers simply use the undead for night soil removal, street cleaning, mining, guards, and the like. It's a good place to hire wizards of various kinds and purchase magical supplies, however, and there's a lot of money there.

It's also easy for adventurers and criminals to find employment in the service of the noble houses, mostly in scheming against each other. But such work is dangerous-- Nifelar politics change abruptly, and it's not unknown for some nobles to realize that it's living servants who betray you-- not undead ones.

o-o

I really like that.

And you're still stuck on Necromancy. FINE. I'll add it to the job list, but I warn you... I suck at drawing zombies... xD

So use skeletons and mummies! I've even got an excuse for you-- "Why yes, we use skeletons and mummies, but not zombies. The smell of rotting flesh really brings down the property values in Nifelan, you know, so they passed a law..."

xDD

But... mummies are the same. Basically zombies but with bandages around them.

So we'd have to stick with skeletons. @w@

Mummies don't rot-- that's the whole point of 'em. They're all preserved and wrapped in bandages and stuff, and they're basically the beef jerky of the undead kingdom-- perfectly fine as long as you don't unwrap 'em.
